the Edwards office in Charleston SC was sandwiched between a homeless shelter and a mission.

I will never forget that neighborhood or those people.

I treked in from Ohio to volunteer, and found myself stepping over and around homeless people....I did this for 5 days. Essentially, I lived in that neighborhood spending 12 to 14 hours a day going in and out of the office.

They cried when the office closed after the primary, worried about who would feed them when we were gone.

I must be useful again, and will find a shelter here to volunteer at, and maybe actually do a little good for somebody.

3. Don't worry. I don't have to drive anywhere the rest of the day and it's a short walk down the

hall to the bathroom. I might trip over a cat or two, but rug burn's the worst that can happen.
