Not since I voted for Al Gore have I had the opportunity to vote FOR someone instead of against someone else. And if he can get even a few more delegates today to keep his platform heard, then my voice has been heard and THAT is what Democracy is all about...Having a REAL choice.

3. Me too. Here in California, I think he has the most chance to pick up a few delegates
something like 34% of voters here voted early when he was still in the running, so he has a shot.

I felt good voting for the candidate of my choice!

My wife and I just finished voting for John Edwards and are damn proud of our vote and our candidate. I hope this catches on across the country to send a message out that we won't be bullied by the MSM or any other outside influence. I wish you all well! Stay strong Edwardians! :hi: :kick:

Note: California Voters

8. As did I
and my wife in California as well. Yes - the chance to vote FOR a candidate instead of AGAINST one! Didn't feel futile AT ALL. Felt Damned GOOD! :woohoo:

and Man, did it feel like a weight was lifted. I just couldn't darken that bubble for Obama or Hillary. They just don't address my issues.

16. Two voters for Edwards in CA checking in!
We spoke to the precinct worker who took our ballots tonight. This was at around 3:30 PM. We asked her what sort of turn-out they'd had. She said it was surprisingly light. My analysis of that is that where we live is a predominately working class neighborhood. Either 1) the people here never HEARD Edwards' message, or 2) when he suspended his campaign (which they probably interpreted as "dropped out"), they didn't realize they could still vote for him and stayed home. Either way, I feel bad. WE--meaning my husband and I--should have done MORE, both in helping get his message out to our neighbors, and in letting them know that their vote for him would still count and why. We should have worked harder. :(

Another interesting thing... there was an older woman there turning in her ballot at the same time as we were. I think she was probably a cafeteria worker from one of the schools, based on the timing and the way she was dressed. She talked to us for a few minutes. She said her grandson was in Iraq. He had come back, got married, had a child, bought a house, then was called back to Iraq. She was pissed! She said, and I quote, "He's no better than anybody else, but I pray every day for him to come home. I want this damn war ended NOW!" We assured her we were with her on that, and the precinct worker nodded (didn't say a word, but her nod spoke volumes).

number of absentee ballots, too, though. More than usual. That may also have been a factor in the apparently low turn-out.

*Edited to correct stupid typo.
