NC Dem chair excludes Edwards from ballot
Reported at Kos. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/6/14750/82277

It will be Clinton, Obama and Gravel -- no writeins allowed.

Interesting Update at the end of this that may explain a few things....

Damn.

edit:

Here's what I sent:

Dear Mr. Meek,

I've just read that you have eliminated John Edwards from the ballot in North Carolina, and I'm writing to express my disgust and disbelief at this action. First of all, he has not ended his campaign, it is merely suspended, technically. He has delegates, and especially in NC stands to still receive enough of the vote to get a few more. With the race as close as it is, you choose to keep Mike Gravel on the ballot and not John Edwards?! Gravel has not received one delegate, yet he'll handily beat Edwards if only one person votes for him, since no write-ins are allowed either. The two frontrunners are so close that it may in fact come down to a brokered convention. If that is the case, John Edwards and his delegates, however few they may be, will certainly have an important role to play. As an Edwards supporter, I have planned to cast my vote for him even though he has suspended his race, because the platforms of the other two candidates don't speak for me, and I see a vote for him as a vote for what's important to me, one that shows the frontrunners that they won't have my support until they address issues such as poverty and corporatism. You sir, are taking the right to do just that away from the good people of North Carolina, and furthermore may singlehandedly be changing the outcome of the entire election, especially if it comes down to a brokered convention. It is appalling, and I hope that you will reconsider your position and restore a true democratic process in North Carolina.

Sincerely,
Judy

5. This is a bunch of crap
I was going to vote for Edwards in May, now I'm being told I can't. This just SUCKS!!!! :nuke:

I swear, I'm almost to the point where I don't care to vote at all because of all the crap and the infighting between the Obama and Clinton supporters!!

Unbelievable. :grr:

6. I just sent my email to Meeks
Here's what I wrote to him.

Sir,

I have just learned that John Edwards had been removed from the May primary elections in North Carolina and I want to register my anger and disgust at your decision.

John Edwards has not ended his campaign run, he has suspended it. While he may not be actively campaigning, I should be allowed the chance to vote for the candidate of my choice and make my voice heard. You sir have taken that choice away from me by removing his name from the ballots.

Please reconsider you decision and allow those of us in NC who still support Edwards the opportunity to vote for our candidate. Too much has already been taken from us in this country, don't let my chance to vote for the candidate of my choice be the next thing.
