Over three days in 1971, 125 Vietnam veterans testified to the atrocities they witnessed or committed during their service. In March 2008, veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan will gather in Washington DC with Iraqi and Afghan survivors to testify to the realities of our current wars. Their powerful voices need to be heard by the American public and the rest of the world. If you are an Iraq or Afghan vet, please attend the event and consider testifying. If you are a member of VVAW, please attend the event and/or help defray the cost of attendance for young vets who will be testifying.
WINTER SOLDIER: Iraq and Afghanistan will be held at the National Labor College, 10000 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, Maryland 20903. Testimony begins Thursday evening, March 13th, and wraps up on Sunday, March 16th. Limited housing is available on site and can be reserved when registering.
VVAW members can register at www.ivaw.org/vvaw and volunteer to help out during the event. IVAW members can register at www.ivaw.org/login. It is not too late to decide to testify!
You can contribute online at www.ivaw.org/wintersoldier, or send a check or money order made out of “IVAW” to PO Box 8296, Philadelphia, PA 19101.
OK, Duers. Time to really support our troops! If you can contribute to this event, this is a good one. If you have said you will never send another dime to a candidate, perhaps you would be willing to send it to IVAW in support of WINTER SOLDIER. I have donated & encourage all of you to donate to make it possible to feed & house these soldiers for this event. My son-in-law is one of these Iraq vets who will be testifying during this event.
Thanks.
