I just can't read GDP anymore. They are driving me away.Maybe DU doesn't
want my kind of poster anymore. The stupidity and ignorance of the Obamaites is astounding. I can't deal with the infantile, uneducated, lack of critical thinking anymore. They "refuse" to become educated. They "refuse" to understand the "process" of anything. They want what they want because they want it. They actually revolt me.:puke:

Paraphrasing Michelle Obama, "I have never in my adult life been more "ashamed " to be a Democrat"

1. Let me share some military wisdom...
This, too, shall pass.

In the meantime, find the places around here that you enjoy and stick to them. (I'm a moderator at a messageboard with thousands of active posters and provide that advice quite frequently when it's obvious that someone is getting frustrated.)

This, too, shall pass.

And when it does, things will be better.

2. Thanks. I appreciate it. But actually, if Obama is nominated. it isn't going to be better
for me and if he either is or isn't elected, things will be much worse. It is just the type of folks involved. Are you suggesting I "hide" for a potential 4 to 8 years? Just wondering. And I am not being snarky! LOL!

5. It's not hiding.
It's finding the places around here that are worth hanging out in.

For example, right now, I'm pretty much here, Colorado, LGBT, and poke my head into GD or GD:P only when I feel like dealing with crap. But when I don't feel like it, then I leave those areas and go to the friendly places.

3. I know what you mean
I still go there, probably out of habit, and often come away feeling worse about the party and the candidates. It's depressing. At this point, with the end of BushCo at hand, we should be in a state of euphoria. How did we get here?

4. You are not alone, saracat.
GDP is a mean, nasty place right now. Full of "supporters" who are so cult like it's hard to tell the difference. Honestly, the Obama people are so protective and defensive of their candidate it reminds me of Bush's 20% that still think he's a great man. :puke:

You could just hide the GDP section until things cool down a bit. I can't tell you how many times I've written replies to threads then deleted them without posting. I figure it will just stir the pot, so why bother? Barack's people think he's a God of some kind, and Hillary's people are...well...they're Hillary's people, and most of us know what that means. They see no wrong in anything she's ever done, has thought about doing, or might do in the future.

And to think we could have had John Edwards. (Picturing the V8 commercial here...) ;)

supporters have been idiots too but they look almost sane in comparison to the Obamaites. I will do anything I can to stop this man.

7. Don't let the bad supporters make you so angry
Just like the bad supporters of HRC should not be allowed to get into one's head.

My Mom, stepdad, daughter, and a few others in my life are Clinton supporters. I respect them. Just disagree. But most in GDP are either just havin' a ball at the expense of rational discussion, or are certifiable. Don't let it get to ya, Obama is not the devil incarnate any more than Hillary is.

8. Obama genuinely disgusts me. Sorry. Don't mean to offend you. His supporters are only the icing

on the cake.As I said, I read his book. he is horrifying, and now he 'isn't opposed to vouchers? Sorry FS. I could NEVER vote for this guy. I am so ashamed of the Democratic Party for letting him get this far.

9. Well it's ok. I'm with ya on wanting Edwards back, but there's enough
on both sides to disgust anyone who wants to focus on the negatives. That's politics in our country, a dirty stinkin' business. I'll vote for Hillary in a heartbeat if she wins the nomination, even if it happens in the most lowdown, dirty tricks, nasty campaigning, superdelegate-trumping, well you get the picture. I'll vote for the democratic nominee, period.

11. Here's a link to...
Obama's not so subtle reference to Hillary's anatomy, uh, periods, uh... "periodically" feeling down.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qNpeGPdhEw

His arrogance is disgusting. And here's a great rant on MyDD by esmense:

http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/2/20/174047/277#243

Here's a quote:

Take a look at the candidate himself -- the video of his "periodically" "feeling down" swipe at Clinton. Watch his face; see how amused he is with himself, how shamelessly he demonstrates his disdain for his opponent, not as a competitor, but AS A WOMAN. Tell me such disdain has no repercussions for all the women who have put their trust in this party over the years or the issues they care about. Give me concrete arguments for why I should vote for this mean-spirited, self-satisfied man at the top of the ticket? Why I should continue to make monthly contributions to a party that supports this kind of behavior? Why I should devote time and energy to supporting the thoughtless, clueless sexism and classism of the people he represents?

Believe, me, you're not alone in the way you feel.
