1. NY Times is reporting early this morning that....

JRE received the following votes in the 4 primaries voting March 4:

Texas: 29,591 (1% of total vote)
Vermont: 1,696 (1.2%)
Rhode Island: 1,112 (.6%)
Ohio: 35,980 (1.8%)

2. Well that's interesting

Considering there was a sign taped to my voting machine yesterday that said Edwards and Kucinich votes wouldn't be counted, even though they were on the ballot.

3. well Edwards votes should be counted..he only suspended..Kuicinich i can see..

he withdrew..

but Edwards did not..

there are many protest votes..against both candidates..

but i would think Edwards could still pick up delegates ..if he got 15%..

he didn't ..but they should not have had a note saying his votes would not be counted.

4. More detail in case you can do something with it

I am in 55D in Columbus. The sign was a xerox copy on pink paper of a printed notice. John Edwards was written in in pen next to Dennis Kucinich's name. It looked to me like this same sign was taped to the machine next to me, though I could not actually read it.

Are you asking why his numbers were so high in Ohio (by comparison)? He had the perfect message for Ohioans. This state has been hit hard by the Bush disaster. The economy has suffered badly. There have been so many layoffs. Much of the state is industrial. Even here in Columbus, which is primarily a white collar city, we've been hit hard. We are dominated by four employment sectors: banking, insurance, higher education and state government. All of these have been hit hard. Banking and insurance by the sub-prime disaster, higher education and state government by decreases in income from taxes and the federal government. Plus, Ohio has had a disproportionate number of troops in Irag, some with horrendous losses. One battalion of Ohio marines lost 21 members in one week in 2005. That kind of set the tone with regard to many people's view of the war here. The son of our mayor is in that battalion, but so far he has survived.
