Among many things to respect about John Edwards, I admire his

big-picture grasp of events and his generosity of spirit toward those who survive in the nomination race, about whom he said the following in his withdrawal speech:

Now, I've spoken to both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. They have both pledged to me and more importantly through me to America, that they will make ending poverty central to their campaign for the presidency.

And more importantly, they have pledged to me that as President of the United States they will make ending poverty and economic inequality central to their Presidency. This is the cause of my life and I now have their commitment to engage in this cause.

If you go skinny dipping in February in Maine, you might think the calendar would favor your plans more for August. Unless you are a heartier soul than myself.

Gore/Edwards. Wow. That would be a trip. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings in the Gore camp, but he is not my first choice. Edwards was my first choice in the 08 field, and this was from a talented field of good choices.

We looked good going in and I think we'll look strong in November, and I'm real happy I'm not John McCain's campaign manager.

7. Well, JRE was my first choice and if the other two frontrunners are

of a sudden carried off to far planets by space aliens, I'm assuming Edwards would get right back in the race and he's have my vote strong and true.

In the off-chance that the aliens don't interfere with the nomination contest, though, I'd like to see as many of our original 8 candidates contributing to the new government as possible.

I think we'd be foolish to pass up Bill Richardson's gifts, for example, or Joe Biden's, or Chris Dodd's, etc.

Bush has left us a huge mess. I want as many of the true bluers as we can round up to help clean it up.

10. Oh, I so agree.. but I don't think Al can re-do the VP spot.. and

everyone knows him and everyone knows he really did win and he would have this sham of a show in the bag against McCain. I prefer Edwards as well, but the name recognition thing isn't as strong as it is with Al... With the two of them, some things would really get done.. and then the cabinet could hold the rest of them that do so well.. and damn it give Kucinich a Cabinet of Peace and send him and his lovely wife out to help restore some damn digninty to this country again.

Having said that, it would be nice if I COULD bring myself to consider either one! And to say ANYONE is better than McCain rings hollow to me. Perhaps DUMPING it all on his old FARTY ASS will just make him look WORSE!

I think too many Democrats screwed us already. So I don't know that I can trust what they might do IF the candidate they worked to promote (behind closed doors) and present to the rest of us will bring ANY Democrats closer together or not!

Seems they hedged their bets already and LOOK WHAT IT GOT US!! Nothing but nasty, vitriolic, vile FIGHTING!
