I signed up and am now officially an Edwards supporter.
I sent e-mails from Edwards' site to about 14 of my friends and acquaintances announcing my decision.

Now I plan to get down to work.

I am not rich and cannot give a big donation, however, I have given a small one. Others will follow as events are organized that I want to attend.

At this point, I am focusing on preparing materials to hand out in front of the local farmers' markets and to my neighbors.

I will just cut and paste excerpts from Edwards' speeches and press releases on his website. He says it all better than I could. I will take a theme a week, print the page myself and just hand it out to people. I will choose passages that I believe will resonate in my community -- if read and heard. I have a pretty welcoming smile and manner (like Edwards), and people generally converse with me out of nowhere, so I think my project will be effective.

Although I gave a small donation to Edwards, this donation of time and handouts will be my real donation. I can make the time and money I spend on those things count more than the kind of monetary donations I can give. Edwards is not going to get fair coverage on the MSM. So, durst hand contact with voters in my own community will be worth a lot more.

I am in California and campaigned against Schwarzenegger's propositions a couple of years ago. I organized a couple of people to join me registering voters and handing out information in front of the local super markets. I also walked my entire precinct. On the last Saturday before the election, I met several other groups who were canvassing my neighborhood. That taught me that you can't overdo the first hand contact.

I think Edwards is the strongest candidate we have had since Kennedy. He has great ideas and seems really committed to carrying them through. He is persuasive and has a good personality. Not bad looking either. I wish that didn't count but it does. Edwards is a better speaker by far than any candidate we have had in the past. I really think we can win with Edwards.

2. Good to hear
that Edwards has such a strong supporter in California! It sounds like you are a super person to have on his side, with all your experience campaigning!

I agree with you that he is a strong candidate. I like it that his plans are so detailed and substantial. He intends to do the things he says! Somebody like that inspires me to want to help.

Please keep on posting info. about California! It is very interesting to hear about what is happening in different states!

I have seen all the candidates in person except Hillary (need new blood 16 years of * Clinton cabal are enough) and no one has been able to knock John out of the top spot.
I hope we can pull it off in Iowa for him. I caucused for him last time and will do so again.
He scares the shite out of the republicans big time hence the 400$ haircut stories and 10,000 square foot house crap. It is so funny because he is a republicans wet dream. First one in the family to go to college. He has made millions of dollars with a successful law practice by pulling himself up by his own bootstraps. But noooo he is a democrat and he talks about poor people with conviction. Make no mistake the pugs hate this guy because he is everything they aspire to be, self made man, rich, good looking but with a conscious.

10. Been Away From DU For A While... Just Want To Be One Of Those Who
want to WELCOME YOU to the Edwards campaign. I have been LONG-TIME Edwards supporter and don't see much that will change that. I have decided NOT to let the HRC stuff bother me because I feel it's MUCH too early!

I don't like going negative against any of our candidates, but she is one who IF she does get the nod I WILL HAVE to vote for, but I can emphatically say I WILL NOT campaign for her!

I too do not have much money to donate having just taken a huge monetary hit, but I DO WANT to work in some way to advance his campaign! Right now because of some "personal" issues I'm unable to dedicate as much time as I would like by way of helping John Edwards. I don't know when I will be able to become much more active but hope it will be soon!

Again, WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME!

Go, Johnny, Go!
