On the road in Iowa

On Monday, John and I arrived, along with our children, Emma Claire and Jack, in Des Moines, Iowa for the "Fighting for One America" Iowa bus tour. In just the last two and a half days we have already covered a lot of ground and spoken to a lot of wonderful people as we've traveled from town to town. We have hit some small places -- Ida Grove for instance -- and bigger towns -- Mason City for example, but one thing doesn't change: the people of Iowa want change in Washington.

We still have many more stops before the tour ends on Sunday, but since we have some time before our next event in Waverly, I thought it would be nice to drop by and chat with you.

1. Elizabeth Edwards is the cat's pajamas.

She's the greatest.

I bet Kate and the two younger ones would agree that their mom has really got it together.

I look in the news accounts at Laura Bush and wonder if maybe somebody ought to check her vital signs. She might have expired. No one would know it.

Here's hoping Elizabeth Edwards is with us a very, very long time.

2. John on Hardball yesterday proves

he would defend her intelligently and lovingly, it's no secret how proud and happy he is that Elizabeth is his wife ! Unfortunately the opposition/media is vilifying her, so I'm sure that's a good sign :D

I can relate to Elizabeth's free spirit....when I was a Battalion Commander's wife, I didn't hold tea parties during deployment, I dragged the wives and kids out to the Soccer field every Sunday :) That was just me, definitely not a hoidy-toidy or politically correct :silly: And I was vilified too...."Oh, she's hurting her husband's career"....guess what ? heh.

3. Hi, Catchawave. Yep -- Elizabeth Edwards gets it done.

Sounds to me as if you know that same range of behaviors, and have come under some of the same criticism.

Well, there's the Laura Bush model and there's the Elizabeth Edwards model.

I think I'll stick with the EE model.
