4. Bye. And My grandfather was a member of the Roosevelt brain trust and
may dad and uncle were close friends of JFK , so what? I have to support your choice of candidate? Many of us in this forum have been bullied by Obama supporters and if you read the threads we Aren't happy about it.We have the right to vent in this forum but we don't need the proselytizing. You are entitled to your opinion and I to mine.We are united in support of Edwards , not the other candidates.

14. 100% absolute complete total...
...unqualified support for you saracat.

The beautiful people have tossed us out of their exclusive club. We were tracking mud on their beautiful carpet. So be it.

5. Would John and Elizabeth approve of attacks on their supporters
for making critical opinions of other candidates?

You may have missed the lectures about being nice to Obama

Right now there are two forums where criticism of Obama is "allowed" without recriminations. Here and the Hillary forum.

You joined this group after JRE suspended, not sure what you were looking for? We've been bitching about other candidates forEVAH :D

7. you seem like a nice person
am actually in tears...am too sensitive for the words here and everywhere on DU. It really hurts me to see such polarization in our own party. It's tearing apart relationships of every kind. Really thought "we" were above that. Didn't find this place until recently..was too busy working for Edwards and still grieving over it all. Truly..truly believe the Edwards would not approve of all this..it's not what they stand for.

8. To me, JRE and EE stand for intelligent, critical thinking; evidence-based
decision-making; honesty. They stand for calling out and trying to stop discrimination where it exists, whether it is directed toward minorities, the economically disadvantaged, gays, women, or another other group. Hatefulness toward other persons or disadvantaged groups, under the pretext that one is angry or must do so in order to fight for your own disadvantaged group, is inconsistent with anything I have heard either say or do. I believe they would call it out. They encourage open and responsible dissent and fairness, among other things. The last thing I think they would do is to tell Democrats to fall in line behind someone and not let the Democratic system play out.

None of us obviously can speak for them, including me, obviously.

However, if you want to mount a crusade against the violation of the above principles here at DU, I think you can find a great deal more evidence of these violations in GD-P, for example.

11. It's killing me to see all the threads
about St. Obama and his speech - I could post a dozen where Edwards has been talking about racial divide but would it get any attention? What would have impressed me is if Obama stopped for a moment and took the Poverty Tour Edwards did last year. Does Obama want to heal the racial divide? Or does he want to grandstand? The first step in healing the racial divide is to find solutions to poverty, Edwards knew this and tried. I haven't seen Obama make any effort on this issue.

12. I think you've summed it up very well.
Certainly they wouldn't endorse all the snarkiness, but neither would they encourage Dems to simply fall in lockstep.

IMHO. I have no more of an inside track than you do, but I'm going by the impression I have of them.

13. a lot of projection going on
The "winners" threw those who wouldn't get into lockstep under the bus, were very hateful and have formed their beautiful club of perfect people, but can't leave without throwing a few insults around and further grinding their opponents under their heels - "nyah nyah nyah we are winners and you are losers!" The betrayals, deception and hypocrisy were stunning to witness.

I find it very disturbing that the same exclusivity and self-congratulatory superiority and bullying that have sabotaged the left and the Democratic party ripped the Edwards community apart, and that the "winners" now turn on those who were exluded and blame them for the ill will.

Those who said "good bye" were allowed to go in peace. Why do you need to come back and get one more attack in?
