Strange Bedfellows: Edwards & Thompson to Appear Together Twice
John Edwards and Fred Thompson are scheduled to appear together for two upcoming association events -- the CTIA Wireless 2008 meeting (an international association of the wireless telecommunications industry) in Las Vegas on April 3rd and a Manufacturers Association Panel in Erie, PA on June 18th.

Not sure what -- if anything -- to read into this, but it does seem interesting that Edwards and Thompson are pairing up as speakers. If the goal is to debate the two sides of the political coin in the 2008 election cycle, it would seem to me that the exchanges will be heavily weighted in favor of the Edwardian "heads"....

1. The only thing they have in common is that they ran for president. The organizations
that hired them probably want to satisfy their attendees and provide balance with one of each.

It does not mean anything. It it a paid gig for each of them.

3. I agree...
But if the goal is "balance," then the sponsors are going to be sorely disappointed when Edwards steals the show. :)

5. lol. hysterical and scary all at the same time...
do you think you need to be a manufacturer to go to the thing in Erie? I want to see JRE, I never got to while he was campaigning...it's only like an hour and a half drive from here...

6. I think the Manufacturers Association event is open to the public...
the link in my OP states: "To get your tickets call the manufacturers association at (814) 833-3200"

Lucky you -- I haven't heard him in person since 2004.

9. I'd go - and maybe someone would
let you in if the public can't purchase tickets.

11. The only way Thompson could keep up with JRE would be if
JRE were loopy from cold medicine after being stuck on a tarmac for 24 hours.
