Hi guys....where's everybody hanging these days?
I stay out of GDP, the rest of DU is protected from the Primary Wars, so it's not too bad in the other forums here.

Daily Kos and Open Left have endorsed Obama, so they're sickening right now :D

I think most of the DU Hillary supporters have left, but I peek in at their forum for updates on pro-HRC links elsewhere.

Not sure what's happened to The Edwardians place?

The JE Movement Continues seems to have an active core group, but still learning my way around there...I think they have a Draft Movement going?

I like Taylor Marsh and MyDD too.

Of course the EENR blog is doing well if you don't want to talk about HRC and BO :D

Miss you all. When I get sad for the good old days, I peek at my last thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5012870

and read the comments. :grouphug:

1. I still check in here
I've looked at a couple other sites and have posted on a few, but I like the format here best. I think a lot of folks are just tired of all the fighting and back biting going on in general. In my humble opinion, those of us who believe in the values and message John Edwards brought to the campaign are feeling ignored and left behind in this whole mess.

Maybe a lot left after the recent infiltration of this forum by supporters of the other two candidates. I would hate to think the renegades ran them off. Wish more of the tired and true Edwards loyalists would hang out here and post so we could get through the election cycle together.

Good to see you, Catchawave! :hi:

Miss the fun days here when just about every positive Edwards thread that discussed issues was on the Greatest Page (there were about 15-20 on any given day I think) - I'm over at EENR and I love it, haven't been too active, been kinda catching up on some things around the house (main, my kids' closets were about to burst!), but I think I have found a new cause. Just meet Jim Neal last night and let me tell you, I am excited again about politics. Maybe it's true - all politics is local, just to keep it real.

On edit - I gave Jim's assistance the url to the EENR blog, he sounded really interested and apparently I'm being put on a "Blast" list. Yippee! I'm getting back into the game.. ;)

9. Sure do miss those Edwards threads...
"substance AND style", that's why he was so popular here. Now it's just a pile of pile on threads. That nice thread greylyn pointed out is full of threadjackers piling on Edwards again. Oy!

We're still tweaking the EENRb, and so far, have kept flamewars away. Primary candidate discussions must be issue oriented. It helps to let the community rate comments, keeps everyone honest. I think Skinner's going to have comment ratings here in the new DU version. Hopefully he's waiting til we have a presumptive nominee or we'll end up with threads full of hidden comments....lol.

Is Jim Neal the guy challenging Liddy Dole? That name is so familiar! Hey, I'll support that campaign :loveya:

13. He has to get past the primary
first - and he's polling numbers look really good. I want Dole out of here so bad, and I have to tell you, he reminds me so much of Edwards.... :)

15. We ALL want Dole out of there....!!!!1!!

Do me a favor, when you have time, no hurry....will you write up a intro diary to him on the EENRb? Just pluck some highlights from his website and put them in a "Kick Elizabeth Dole's Arse Out of the Senate" format, and you'll do fine :D

My goodness, Mark Warner in VA and Jim Neal in NC....that's a 2 seat pickup in the Senate!

Oh, and this is a goody too: http://www.pamshouseblend.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=3621

:toast: to getting excited about politics again :toast:

4. I lurk in Education, Economy, and Breaking News
but I just cannot abide the rest of DU right now. I miss John Edwards' contribution to the debate so much, and its just so sad to see what's happened since his departure. I bet John himself feels the same way...Poverty? Healthcare for all? Corporate Responsibility?? Can you imagine John ripping into this Bear-Stearns Bailout crap, allowing the CEO to cash out his stocks for $61 million dollars (all on the public's tab) while leaving the little guys behind to lose their meager homes? It just all hurts so much right now. Come Back, John Edwards. Come back...

5. I've become a lurker..
And a gardener. Oh yeah, I also look for a job full time. Actually I'm still checking in regularly at EENR, and here, but I don't do many OP's. Mostly, the last couple of days, I'm digging up my backyard to plant a vegetable garden, and so far, I have two patches dug up, one 6' x 6' and one 5' x 5', and now I have to figure out what to do with it.

I do miss the old days, the people, the excitement of working on a national campaign, but just like the broken record I am, I want to say there's still a lot of great local, state and congressional races out there. To me, Hillary and Obama are two sides of the same coin, and the best thing I can say about them is that they have to listen to us, and we can move them.

I guess this is kind of a ramble, but I do miss you all.

6. Wish I could have a garden at my apartment
I think I'm going with some herb boxes and maybe a few planters. I'm lucky enough to have a pretty good SW facing patio that I could use to put in some tomatoes and pepper plants. Probably nothing viny or growy like beans, melons, or corn. So that would mean nothing like the large garden we always had while I was growing up.

8. You can do a salad pot ?
Just need one large patio pot and put in a tomato, cuke and spring onions ? I know these work because the best one I ever saw was on a friends boat :) I'm thinking of trying one this year in a half whiskey barrel.

I had some slight success growing viny things by putting small trellises in the larger planters.

I'm so tired of dismissing the pain of others.

Tell your husband I appreciate his view.

14. hello old Edwards friends
Just saying "hi."

I know of several big online projects in the works, so some people are working on those. Lots of places to stay in touch meanwhile - here, the EENR blog, and I am leaving the temporary Edwardian board up for the time being so no one gets stranded or lost in the shuffle.

24. For some reason the EENR site feels alien to me.
It could be because DU was the only political website I ever got involved in. I really liked our little Edwardians site, too bad it stays so dormant.
