John Edwards says would not accept VP nomination

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards said on Thursday he would not accept the nomination for U.S. vice president as he did four years ago.

I am stuck in the party for another year due to certain obligations but after that all bets are off. I have really departed in spirit any way.

but I have to admit I didn't anticipate seeing and reading what I've seen and read on DU this time around.

3. No , Edwards is not but if I didn't have some obligations I would leave

the Party. I just don't see where it represents me anymore. I know quite a few folks who feel the same.many have already left.

7. I'm all for a third party - one that

would be headed by Gore and Edwards. Their values and what they are trying to accomplish can not be done in the Democratic party anymore, I don't even recognize the party I signed onto over 26 years ago.

This is not my party anymore. It has strayed from the core values that made me a Democrat in the first place. Thank God Edwards hasn't endorsed either one of these twits and I hope he doesn't.

It's too soon to know yet. It's possible Gore and Edwards will take this party back - along with help from some other good and decent Democrats.
