We need universal health care in this nation. Nyceve has written about it extensively. (Read the NYCEVE diaries here.) Many kossaks, like myself, have long supported single payer. Last year, John Edwards came out with a universal health care plan that was a road to single payer.

1. Sometimes it takes people a while to wake up

and realize what they had wrong but eventually it happens. I agree that Elizabeth is right. Obama and Hillary, to a lesser extent, are wrong in their continued reliance on insurance companies. Both of their plans will raise insurance premiums and decrease coverage.

2. I am so fortunate to have free medical

thanks to my husband's 30 year military career. I remember Wesley Clark had a good plan at one time based on the military program (Champus, Tricare ?)

Everyone complains about mandates and UHC not working in Canada and Europe, but they have to be a helluva lot better than what we have now.

4. PBS is having a special showcasing the countries around the

world. The interviewer asks a man from Sweeden if he would go bankrupts paying for healthcare? The man said no. Then the promo shows the interviewer ask a man from Japan if a pre-existing condition, like heart disease, could prevent treatment. Again the man said no. So it sounds like it is working very well in Europe.
