I'm gonna start posting and participating in this forum again.... after a long absence......

As many of the issues I post about have to do exactly with the issue of
race, and when I post about my feelings and thoughts elsewhere, I'm accused
of playing the race card usually, in one way or another no matter what it is
that I'm saying, soooo......

I don't know why I stopped posting here, but I guess I figured with a Black President in power,
things would get a bit easier at some point....
but actually, the reverse is proving true.

I could use a good refuge, to feel more free to say what I feel.....
and although I've had OPs in the past locked here in this forum,
guess I'll have to watch that, and try again.

:hi: honestly, no explanation of your absence is needed. people come and go, for a variety of reasons. sometimes i find issues in the media, that i want to discuss in this (or another forum about race/ethnicity)....sometimes, not. :shrug:

i recognize that du is *not* an easy forum for any minority member (i.e. asian, disabled, hispanic, biracial, female, glbt, etc.)to be a member of, on a long term basis. it's a small miracle, to still see some names i'm familiar with, imho. ;) there've been times i've needed a break, and took one. sometimes, i hang out and talk in other areas of du that i enjoy....i'm guessing you've done the same on occassion. either way, no harm--no foul.
