Looking for something to read or give as a holiday gift that will make someone a better airman?
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz on Monday announced the 2009 chief of staff’s reading list.
The list includes the biography of Air Force Medal of Honor Bud Day, a history of Afghanistan and several books on special operations and fighting insurgencies, including a book authored by Army Times senior writer Sean Naylor.
"In our professional development, we must remain mindful of the lessons of the past, while we continue to prevail everywhere our enemies choose to engage,” Schwartz said in a release. "The books we have selected for our 2009 reading list capture a rich history, both intense and compelling, that offer a perspective to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow."
The books are available at Air Force base libraries:
