NH Guard soldiers to be welcomed home

CONCORD, N.H. — A group of New Hampshire National Guard soldiers is being honored after finishing tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq.

A celebration is scheduled for Thursday.

Most of the soldiers worked as mentors and trainers for the Afghan National Army and police force. They deployed with the 27th Brigade Combat Team, N.Y. National Guard.

One soldier returned from a second tour in Iraq and three others from a tour at Camp Shelby with Operation Warrior Trainer following their deployment with the 3643rd Maintenance Company to Iraq.

They arrived home in New Hampshire between October 2007 and earlier this month.
