Former sailor pleads guilty in child porn case

HARTFORD, Conn. — A former Navy sailor has pleaded guilty to downloading child pornography to a computer at the submarine base in Groton.

Twenty-four-year-old Christopher Allen House of Golden, Colo., appeared in Hartford federal court on Tuesday. He pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography and faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 when he is sentenced April 28.

Navy investigators say they searched a desktop computer in House’s barracks in July 2006 and found more than 10 images of children younger than 12 engaged in sex acts.

Prosecutors say House admitted to downloading the pornography from the Internet.
