Mullen to make visit to Minot

MINOT, N.D. — The nation’s top military officer is slated to visit the Minot Air Force Base.

The Air Force says Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will tour the base on Feb. 18 and meet with airmen.

The Air Force says it’s the first time a joint chiefs chairman has visited the Minot base.

The joint chiefs chairman is the principal military advisor to the president. The senior military officer serves at the pleasure of the president.

Mullen was sworn in as joint chiefs chairman in 2007.
