Md. man charged with killing stepson at Kadena

BALTIMORE — Federal prosecutors say a Glen Burnie man has been indicted on charges of murdering his wife’s son on a U.S. Air Force base in Japan.

Twenty-seven-year-old Roberto DeLeon was indicted Feb. 25. The indictment was unsealed Friday.

DeLeon was living with his wife, who is in the Air Force, on Kadena Air Base on April 7 when prosecutors say he beat and seriously injured 8-year-old Jordan Peterson. Four days later, prosecutors say DeLeon killed the boy after the boy was hit in the stomach.

DeLeon is charged with murder and assault in Peterson’s death.
