Iowa guardsmen return home on Christmas Eve

DES MOINES, Iowa — A jet has landed in Des Moines carrying about 230 members of the Iowa Air National Guard.

The plane landed Thursday morning, bringing members of the 132nd Fighter Wing home on Christmas Eve. The soldiers had been deployed to Iraq. They were greeted by a large crowd of friends and family.

The soldiers were to arrive earlier but were delayed in Germany.
