BAGHDAD — The Army says a soldier has died in Iraq of injuries unrelated to combat.

A military statement on Saturday says the United States Division-Baghdad soldier died on Friday. The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The incident is under investigation and no further details were provided.

The death raises to at least 4,371 the number of U.S. military personnel who have died in Iraq since the war began in March 2003. That’s according to an Associated Press count.
