Who is Kandy Stroud?

She is sitting in Radio Row here at the Take Back America conference. We tried to give her a Gore sticker last night and she frowned and said "If Gore wins, he will split the party"

I Googled her. They are calling her a Dem party strategist. Is she a DLCer??

1. Never heard of her.

I just saw a story about Bloomberg on Tweety. A number of pundits think he might enter after the primaries if the two parties don't have strong candidates. I wonder if Gore could do that. I don't think I could bear waiting that long. And aren't delegates committed based on primary outcomes? I suppose if there's no clear winner he could get drafted at the convention, but I don't want to wait that long.

On second edit: The big news about Bloomberg (I missed the beginning of the story) is that he just became an Independent and says he will work with both parties equally.

4. Saw her again this morning while Hillary was speaking

and she was staring daggers at the Code Pinkers and their signs. Then after Hillary was done, Kucinich took the stage and I looked around for Kandy and couldn't find her.

So I think she must be part of Hillary's team.

2. Found nothing about her that indicated DLC

but did find links regarding her and her radio show and Al Gore. Perhaps her nose has been pushed out of joint? She supported Tipper's PMRC music thing and Al didn't show for a 6 am LA radio show in 2000. Boo hoo.

He wouldn't split the party. He has been talking with all the candidates all along. I don't think any of them would be surprised if he were to join the group today or tomorrow. The DEMs know what's at stake here. Maybe this dish doesn't?

I haven't heard one leeeberal talk show host who doesn't want Gore to run. Randi, Thom, the Young Turks, they all want him.

7. She used to be DNC but left to start her own firm in May 2006

Here's what I found on my first search of her:

She has a daughter named Andrea and a husband named Franklin.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Franklin L. Stroud, a prominent pediatrician in Washington, D.C. and Kandy Stroud, a member of the Democratic National Committee.
