For my money, Dodd has the best answer. Surprised myself by making that decision too. Wonder what his chances are of getting the nomination? :sarcasm:

2. Dodd in fact is the closest. He's a full cap and trade,

restore habeas-corpus, thoughtful anti-war, fix the executive power abuse kind of guy. I've donated a small amount to his campaign.

Richardson is a take-no-prisoners pragmatist. I've donated a small amount to his campaign. Anti-war alone? DK. Oration and Charisma? Obama.

Want smarter than Dodd? More experience than ass-kicker Richardson? Consistant and as openly anti-war as Denny? More Star power than Obama?

Well we all know who that person is.

3. We sure do know who that person is

but if he really doesn't run, I'm leaning toward Richardson as things stand right now. Unfortunately, not enough other people are. I liked his answer on the MoveOn virtual town hall. His past experience as Energy Secretary is really important.

But, all that being said, I'm going to be extremely depressed and disappointed if Gore doesn't heed the call.

Depressed if he doesn't run. Went on the skids once I watched that Today Show interview.

I realized that I thought NO ONE else could do the job... which is not true. The best scenario for my family, for those I love, for my country and for the world is if Gore runs and wins. If he doesn't, I best look at the other candidates as if they really were... you know... candidates. <sigh>

Thought I was in a Twilight Zone episode there for a while and the streets were devoid of humanity. :)

I am going to have to look a bit more closely at Dodd... just in case I have to choose someone other than Gore. Heard Dodd on NPR yesterday. They were interviewing him in Iowa - Paul Simon was going from one town to the other luring crowds with his music so Dodd could talk to them. Sounded like he was getting a good reception. And he sounded like a sensible man. Sounds like I am talking myself into this, doesn't it?
