I figured out when I was 16 that the Kennedy assassination was an inside job from a report I did using the school library. Not from conspiracy theorist from a logical examination of who benefited the reason for most planned crimes. My health and raising two children alone (definitely not my choice) kept me from doing more but anytime I could speak out or make a small difference I did and I always voted.

My Dad considered himself a Goldwater Republican and even though he was not a Bush supporter in the 2000 primaries he probably voted for Bush in 2000 and despite my constant informational leafleting by me he probably voted for him again in 2004 as he has said that he cannot change now at 82. He is not religious it is more they made him feel like somebody and he bought the tripe they kept dishing out that the "liburals" supposedly said. Not.

Joined Move-On at its start and I was active for local candidates in 2000 and I watched the election be stolen on C-span and watched in horror as our country descended into the abyss, ethically, comically, morally and religiously. I took a couple recent surveys here on DU that say my values mirror Mike Gavels but I realized he has been quickly marginalized by all sides. I despise Hillary as she is part of the problem not the solution. I would NEVER vote for Hillary and I have been saying that for 3 years in emails to the Dem party factions and here on DU. The rest I would vote for but I believe that Al Gore is the leader we need right now and I would fully understand if he did not do it but he sure has proved he can take the punches and get back up. He has the heart and the head we need.

So for now I have made my choice and hope that the next few months will make the country realize they need a leader, Al Gore not another slick politician (Hillary) to get us out of the abyss.

1. Emails to dem party

I was mad the other day and wrote a long email to dnc and told them Al Gore is my choice and that I will NOT support Hillary and mad they seem to be pushing her at us. I went on and on about how I felt and got back one of those emails about how wonderful all the candidates are and isn't it great we have such good choices??

Sometimes I think our party is learning how to be evil from the other one...I agree with who ever it was that said we need to take over our party and change it.

But what a big job when those leading it have all the power...I guess the only way is to infilterate it..

5. I don't think it is the DNC

Howard isn't out there promoting anyone. There are factions within the party that are doing it. fwiw, I gave Dean a Gore '08 button back in 2005 (he was here kicking of the 50 State Strategy) and he looked at it, got this huge smile, flashed it to the crowd and then said, "now that's something I'd like to see" and then quickly said, "I probably shouldn't say things like that."

McAuliffe was head of the DNC and appointed by Clinton. He was party chair in 2004 and now he's on Hillary's staff. All I'm saying is that I don't think Dean is on the Clinton lovetrain. He's been stabbed in the back by the DLC types and I just don't see the DNC as the problem. The problem is the talking heads. They're the ones who have been calling the shots. They decide who gets coverage as well as how and what is said about them. As two examples, look at Carville and Begala. They work for the Clintons. They did Crossfire and defended Hillary more than the Democratic Party. Now they're pundits and they show up on the various political shows defending Hillary. So, what we need to look at is who the media promotes as the Democratic talking heads and then look at where their allegiance lies.

2. I just about gave up on Al Gore running...

but recently someone told me something that makes me wait a little longer. Since it's a rumor, I'll put it out here rather than the bigger forum. If this is wrong, it won't be too embarrassingly public. :) Anyway somebody told me (elderly mother of someone high up in Washington on the conservative side of things) that she thinks Gore may run. Her son is in a position to know, let's just say. He is absolutely in a position to know how the waters are running, if anybody is. I can't reveal the name...people would not believe it anyway. Everyone at DU knows who this is.

If Gore does come in, let's you and me :toast: kickysnana! Along with the other Gore diehards.

I'm going on record right here saying that there is still a chance that he could --as of this date, according to what I heard. Believe me, I was surprised! I have been acquainted with this mother since I was about 2 years old myself. She is known as a straight arrow, very direct no-nonsense person.

I realize that this is worth about 2 cents right now, but IF correct, I want this on the record.:)

3. I hope its true

there is so much speculation. I just heard today Gore is speaking at a wine conference in spain in Feb and so he can't do that as a candidate and would have to cancel, but why book it if he is running?

Day in day out. I hear things that give me hope then take it away. Back and forth. I can't wait till this is over because its driving me nuts. I keep going over in my mind why Gore would let it get this far with all the draft movements if he is not running. what would his purpose be to watch us all spend time and money on energy wasted? I don't get it. I am at the point if you are not running say so.

But a good part of me that believes in Gore, believes in the integrity of Gore the man who fired Mark Penn, that he wouldn't do that to us and will run.

A close friend of mine has parents who are high up in the dem party in my state and came back from a meeting with some of them with draft gore buttons because some of the leaders want Gore. I live in WA state. I was surprised by this as I thought most of the state liked Obama. The more I ask around about Gore people say, gee I didn't know he was running, but if he does I will vote for him.
