It's getting tough to hold on
to hope Al is running.
I only still have a shred of belief left because it seems IMPOSSIBLE TO ME that he would let us waste time and money trying to get him to run. He could put a stop to it just like he did in 2003!

But DU seems to be losing hope too. I used to come here and find very rational threads with reasons why he may be running. Yesterday I saw one thread about Gore running.....and it was someone telling me callously he is "NOT FUCKING RUNNING."

Anyone left out there with a shred of hope?

2. Yes
When Al Gore announces to the world, I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party as your President, then I will give up hope.

He knows that many groups are currently seeking signatures for him to be on their ballots. It is impossible to miss. He has had ample opportunity to request they stop.

But, he hasn't.

Is there not one psychic amongt us?

3. To be honest
I don't think he is going to run anymore, and I am very disappointed that he hasn't talked to the draft gore people. I really thought he would have done that by now. I am going to support Edwards. There is a part of me who wants to support someone who has a passion for becoming President, to change this country and the world in a positive way. I am tired of begging him to run. Although I have been hoping for him too for so long...

4. I don't know
Lots of people think I'm nuts to be holding on. Like you, I just don't see why he wouldn't have said a flat out "no" and told the groups to stop working like he did last time. There must be a reason he hasn't done that. One friend thinks maybe he is going to come in very late in some kind of unprecedented way. I could see that. Also, maybe he knows something. There is that rumor about the story the LA Times is holding back. Maybe he knows something is going to happen to shake everything up and he's waiting for that.

I wish something would happen soon. I want to run for delegate to the convention. It's too hard to get elected as an "at large" delegate, so I need to declare for some candidate. Of course, I want to declare for Al. If he doesn't do something by December 1st, I'll either give up running or I'll declare for Edwards.

I still so wish he would get in. There is so much at stake.

5. i have a shred of hope.
mostly, tho, it is that i have nowhere that i really want to jump. i do, like others, find it hard to believe that he would let people work so hard for nothing. and i do see that he would want to shake things up. but i am starting to get some of those, "ok, i will just move over here and talk to this person now" looks. sigh.

6. I'm still hanging on
and heard something yesterday that gives me reason to believe all is not lost. Trust him, folks. He knows what he's doing and in the end I don't think he'll let us down. As Hillary starts to slips, his opening may be coming soon.

7. I DO trust him
but rumor, innuendo and hope can take us only just so far, then it's gone. I hope somthing breaks soon but I'm looking at Edwards now, since Gore is not definitely in.

11. I will hold on until December 4
and then re-evaluate where I stand. NONE of the other candidates have the climate crisis at the top of their list. I have no other candidates to support - I have other candidates that I will vote for in the primary if Mr. Gore doesn't announce.

I think he wants to be president - not sure what is staying his hand at this point but trust he has a good reason. I think there are reasons he hasn't told the draft gore people to stop... and I am willing to wait to hear still.

Pretty much staying out of GD for now - I get so mad at posters such as you mention that I know I will not politely respond if I go there.
