http://thegoreyears.wordpress.com/about/From the blog:
"Welcome to my fictional blog, The Gore Years. I call it a Flog. If you’re familiar with the concept of alternative history, you may get a kick out of this flog. The Gore Years is a flog about what should have happened in American politics, and it begins by describing what could have happened if a responsible human being had been president during the first few years after 9/11. A frustrating, sometimes maddening look into what could have been."
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. what a nice bit of escapism this is.
Was reading a post about Pakistan (!due to today's events, found this via Google), when he said that U.S. Secretary of State Joseph Biden (!!YAY) said: "'We have to recognize that Pakistan is a Muslim state,” said Biden in an interview with the Washington Post on the eve of the parliamentary elections. “It’s in the constitution of that country. So getting our panties in a bunch when some Muslim groups get elected isn’t really the way to go. Our policy, and part of the Gore Doctrine, is that democracy, in order to flourish, must be authentic.'
The Gore Doctrine, which was instituted shortly after 9/11, is centered around the promotion of democracy “without intervention,” a novel concept in American politics."
I think I just swooned in fictional ecstasy.
