Gore to appear on 60 Minutes Sunday Night

Al Gore will be on CBS-TV's 60 Minutes this Sunday night to talk about global warming and what is set to be a $300 million TV ad campaign to raise awareness about it.

According to CBS, when correspondent Lesley Stahl says to the former vice president and 2000 Democratic presidential nominee that some prominent leaders aren't convinced that humans are contributing to the problem, Gore says:

"You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat. ... That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off."

1. Interesting,

he makes the comparison to Cheney (someone in the Executive Branch) rather than Sen. Inhofe (who has been much more out-spoken about the false claims of Gore and others than I think Cheney has ever been).

BTW, in the good omen department, my wife told me this morning she had a dream last night in which I was somewhere and met a sort of long-lost friend (actually someone who used to work, briefly with my wife, then went on to be on Tipper Gore's staff) and after some chit-chat, he took me to a door, opened it, and Al Gore was in a room waiting to talk to me. Understand, she sort of thinks I'm on a fools errand with all this Gore stuff, so the dream could be really significant. Unfortunately, I have no way of contacting this "sort of long-lost friend," as far as I know. He's apparently still in the DC area, but with some private consulting firm and probably not still in contact with Tipper.
