An airline official says a plane carrying former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and dozens of other passengers was forced to abandon takeoff because of an engine failure in Denmark. Atlantic Airways Chief Financial Officer Marius Davidsen says the jet was taxiing toward the runway at Copenhagen airport on Sunday evening when the cockpit equipment indicated a problem with one of the engines. He says Monday all 85 passengers, including Gore, were transferred to another plane, which took off without incident. Atlantic Airways said the plane arrived in the Faeroe Islands with a three-hour delay.
