I'll tell you what is wrong with this group

As many of you do, I come here daily since I learned about this group, thank you evlbstrd for turning me on to it.

But instead of replying to a post we see, we move on. We take on the message without replying to the messenger.

There are numerous threads here with many people looking in and not responding to; one thread has 217 people reading the message and only 9 people responding, another has 358 people reading and only 10 people responding, another has 125 people looking and 9 responding. You get my drift.

If we want Al Gore as President of our United States, I think we need to work a little harder than this.

When you read a thread, respond, give a heads up to others, respond.

Within the next few days I will be contacting everyone who has ever participated in this forum and beckon everyone to participate in our mission, to restore Al Gore to his rightful position.

Put me on ignore if you must, but we have to work on this daily.

I am on board, who is with me? Come here and participate. Jeanette in Florida, who lived in the county where Al Gore was robbed in 2000.

1. Jeannette -- I, too, wish this group was more active

There seems to be a lot of Gore discussion going on all over DU, but not here. We need to get more people to come here rather than posting in GD and GDP all the time. I'm not quite sure how we get people to do that.

I know sometimes I read, but don't have anything more to contribute to whatever the discussion is.

Our Draft Gore movement in Michigan is just getting off the ground. I have two meetings in the next 5 days to go to -- One in Ann Arbor Sunday afternoon which will have attendees from various parts of the state. Next Tuesday evening I have a more local one. I will post reports from those two meetings after they take place.

Thanks for taking the ball on this and trying to get more participation.

But we've got a Draft Gore meetup group going, and I'm going to a neighboring meetup this weekend. We're also putting together some web content. We'll let you know about that real soon.

12. I live in the boondocks of Florida

The closest meetup for me is in Jacksonville, which is about 60 miles away. I keep checking for the Gainesville area which is about 40 miles from me. I basically live in the woods, with very few neighbors and fewer liberals still. I haven't met one since I have lived here for 4 years.

DU'er JCMach1 has a home in my neighborhood, but he lives in UAE most of the year and rarely gets here.

During the 2004 election cycle, I tried setting up a Dennis Kucinich meetup group and never had one person sign up.

But, I will keep looking. In the meantime, post about your meetups and strategies.

this forum is highly underused. At one point I was trying to list the Gore topics in the various forums, picking up from another poster but I got busy and then spaced it out.


But you're right. We should post more Gore stories here and respond to more of them.

7. I've got some ideas, based on something you did today & Sharon posted

Whenever you find a Gore thread post the link here with the date in the subject line. If each of us makes sure that all the posts from that day are listed we will have a pretty complete reference guide if we want to look something up. We can just search key words on this forum rather than trying to sift through the rest of DU. For example, this evening I posted on a Gore-related thread and posted it on the thread Jeannette started with today's date on it. I know if I start doing this, checking to see if it is listed here, I will start checking this forum more often. Then again, I am amused easily. Anyway, I was thinking that if we make the compliation we can start referring others here when they have a question. That way, we will give people an incentive to check this place out from time to time to make sure they are getting all the Gore news there is.

We should also post, as you did, articles we find on the internet.

We could also start a special thread just for Gore-related blogs and add to it when we find them.

Also, when we find Al Gore threads in GD or GDP, we should also post a link to this group in that thread so that others can find us. I had no idea that this group existed until Evl told me about it in DC, while we were having a conversation about wanting Al Gore to run. I tend to stay in GD or LBN, so I was glad to learn about this group.

Posting any news about Al with the date is a great idea to keep everyone current.

I am not giving up on Al Gore, it is personal for me, coming from the county in Florida where he was robbed.

I should post more. I just want to be able to say something not just fluff but something that will help. I live in WA state in the mountains in a 50/50 red/blue city. It would be more red, use to be but alot of people moving over from Seattle, thank god!!

Seriously, we are a very easy group of people that have a common cause. Getting Al Gore to his rightful position. We don't have to be 100% serious, we can have some humor along our journey.

Just let us know what is going on in your area, contact the Admiral for meetups in your area and let us know what is happening.

I tried for a while to get people to post all Gore-related stuff here, but had no luck. Let's all keep pushing and post whenever you have anything interesting about him.

Jeanette has been out of pocket the last few weeks. Hopefully she'll be back soon.

In the meantime, be sure to sign up at www.algore.org if you haven't already. Try to find a group in your area and get active! If there isn't one already, start one. You can also go to www.draftalgore.meetup.com to try to find a group near you.

29. I too come here all the time, almost daily,

looking for positive signs that Gore will join.
Always sad to see so little activity.
The other day a RW coworker who has never voted for a dem in his life told me he would vote for Gore in a second.
He saw An Inconvenient Truth and said it was the scariest thing he has ever seen.
I have signed a few petitions to Gore.
I will also pledge a donation if he runs when I get around to figuring out where to do so.
