Remember back in July when we talked about the "prayer warriors" of DC40, and their plan to invade the US capital for forty days and forty nights? You'll probably recall that this is part of the New Apostolic Reformation movement, and part of the prayer initiative includes changing the name of District of Columbia to District of Christ. Well, as you can imagine, there were some pretty heated comments in response to the around the non-fundamentalist parts of the blogosphere.
A number of Pagan bloggers, particularly those who actually LIVE in Washington, DC, suggested that the Pagan community counteract DC40's prayer war with workings of our own - including prayer and tribute to Columbia, the figure for whom the District is named. Rather than a response against the DC40 people, nearly every blogger encouraged positive workings, focusing on liberty, interfaith dialogue, and religious tolerance.
