I also hope that this is okay to post as well
Greetings Good Merchants and Other Magickal Folk! The Sacramento Grove of the Oak, The Ancient Cauldron, and numerous other groups and individuals in the Sacramento Magickal Community are inaugurating a unique new festival this summer called the Celtic Midsummer Night's Dream Faerie Festival. It promises to be a festival like no other! Think Magic!! If you are interested in receiving a Vendor's Packet for the festival, please send a request to PoetGorman@aol.com with "Vendor Packet Please" in the subject line. If you wish to receive the packet by postal mail, include your mailing address in the body of the email. We hope you will join us. For those of you in the Sacramento Pagan Community, this is the begining of a most exciting year of festivals. Leaders of the community met over the past few months and decided to present three large festivals that would financially benefit our community directly, with the proceeds being set aside for Sacramento community-wide events, and hopefully in the near future, some social support programs for our people. It's time we start building the support system we need to compensate for the sometimes less-than-Pagan-friendly services offered by other community groups. Wouldn't it be great to eventually have a Pagan Community Center. Let's dream big! The Midsummer Festival will be the first of the three big festivals planned. Megan LaFeyette, as many of you know, is heading up the second festival, the Harvest Moon Festival in September, which will be a continuation of the tradition of Harvest Festivals we have put on successfully for six years so far. Jennifer Tolin will soon be sending out information on next February's Imbolc Eisteddfod Festival of the Arts, the third big festival. Eventually we hope to rival the Eisteddfod in Wales as the Eisteddfod West. The rest of the year, we will be gathering together to worship and play at our usual public rituals, like the Griffith Quarry Ostara, the Goethe Park Beltaine, and the Lughnasa Family Gathering on the River. So polish your wands and prepare for an incredible year! And, of course, feel free to offer your talents in volunteering for the festivals. We intend to develop on-going professional crews in such things as Security, Historic Costuming, Set Design and Publicity that will be able to work all the festivals, so don't be shy in offering your talents. We also hope to build upon the Grove Players to establish an ongoing Acting Troupe. We will be developing solid training programs for these areas, so if you are a student interested in these areas, we will be able to supplement your training elsewhere. (And I write killer recommendation letters suitable for professional resumes!) So come on out to have a great time and support your community at the same time! Let's pull together as we have never done before and dazzle the rest of the world with the wonder of the City of Trees That Stands Between the Rivers! Peace, Michael R. Gorman President of the Board Sacramento Grove of the Oak, Inc.
