I am not Wiccan either, but if there is one thing I have learned in life is that you change over time and it is usually a gradual thing. For now you might see your work within the power company is not a bad thing because you may also give it a "secret" balance of another kind of light (small pun here, I grew up on a hydroelectric site in WA,lol).
For example, I am a computer geek (not a programmer like you, I am a network administrator by training) and I know the work world you are in can be very....well not that spiritual. However, I am finding my intuition and empathathic nature come in handy in the technological field because it is needed there. At first being "touchy-feely" seemed useless, but I learned this field needed things that were not so...machine-like. Now I am working with low income people to help them get up to speed with computers and I love it. They are always surprised when I work with them because they expect me not to be an empath, but it immediately puts them at ease and helps their learning pace. No I do not make much money doing it, but it is something I know is doing something good for the world and plus I find that counseling and social work also naturally comes along with the job, something I am gifted at along with my knowledge of computers, really. But it has taken me over ten years to incorporate things to this point and I still have a long way to go I think. That is my pace or learning curve, yours may be longer or shorter, I don't know.
So what you are doing is a developing thing and will send you on a path and that takes time and your experiences will teach you how to incorporate your various skills. Your inner wisdom is already showing as well. If you continue on your path of Wiccan, there will probably come a time when you find that working for a place like that is no longer your thing, but you can prepare for it when you know it will change your perspective.
Hope this helps. :hi:
