Praying for the soul of my nation tonight

Nothing too elaborate:

I have a small shrine-in-the-making with a little Statue of Liberty (Goddess of both compassion and freedom), shining discs with portraits of our nation's mightiest founders: Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln -- i.e. coins, a slip of paper with a DUer's Truth Come Out Magic charm, and a quote from Jefferson posted at DU by Elizabeth Edwards. So far.

On my other altar I've lit my Virgin of Guadalupe candle. She's Mother of the Americas, and boy do we need her tonight.

I know you are with me, friends.

for the earth and a couple of pictures of the toughest people I know on mine. If we could muster half their tenacity, this would be over now.

Mine is a "plastic altar", changing with need, and with the particular personality that I'm addressing at the time. I work with individuals, rather than groups like whole countries, but the intent is the same: To help enough people that the spirit of the country will be made whole again. I like the idea of "tipping points", of thresholds, and I work with "heavier powers" in order to reach such a threshold that the energy just kind of spills over. This is slow, of course. But rather intriguing in the results. . . .
