They scream "E-e-e-k!" and hit the frigging ALERT button before they even read our posts.

That's judging by an experience I had today. I posted a most respectful question in a Xian thread, and it not only got deleted...one of them started ragging on me for "editing my post."

So I can only guess that they saw my name, recognized me as one of the Usual Suspects, and got it deleted post-haste before anyone could sully their Beautiful Minds by reading it.

Then they whined about how we should keep out of their Pwecious "Safe Haven" groups, which I'm happy to do. However, in this case they were directly discussing atheists, so I felt I was perfectly within my rights to respond.

The funny thing is, I recognized several names in the thread who have moseyed over here to the Atheist groups and yakked with us. AFAIK, no one ever complained about that. I know I didn't.

I'm about ready to say most DU Xians can just go get Cheneyed. I'm sick and tired of their bleating about "wanting a dialogue," then their having attacks of the vapours whenever the dialogue questions their silly-ass notions about talking snakes, pregnant virgins and zombie Messiahs.

They don't want a dialogue, they want exactly the same thing the right-wing Xians want--an Amen Corner and an echo chamber where never is heard a discouraging word.

At least we're HONEST about our beefs, we don't hide behind a sky pixie and pretend we're morally superior because our invisible friend tells us so.

If they've got something to say, they should say it.
We fucking do, but, then again, we don't have to pretend to follow a set of rules that we picked out of a book just to fit our mood that day.

I have no respect for whiners who pretend they want everyone to "just get along" in one post, while in others, they spout their own personal brand of bitchiness and bigotry towards us.

Really. The only thing that matters to me is changing things. I look at where this nation is heading and it scares me. Things have to change. So how are you going to do it.

I see our plight here as the same as the problems this nation is facing. The age of reason is dying here. It is becoming the age of delusion. Pet psychics and the validity of exorcisms flood the airwaves. This is a shame. This is amazing. This has to change.

They're the same turncoats that are more than happy to throw GLBT people and illegal immigrants to the enemy as a sacrifice the minute things get dicey.

They're not my friends or my allies.

We may vote for common candidates but that's as far as I'm willing to go to march in lockstep with them.

Liberal believers who ARE our friends and allies don't turn on us the minute our issues make us "look bad" to the masses.

They don't buy into the whole "only good people are christians" meme.

And they don't expect us to cater to their pathetic sensitive little persecuted souls on an internet politics forum.

You're not wrong for wanting to change things, but neither am I for calling them on their intolerance.

I'll stick to working with the true liberal progressives, the christian elitists can stick their crosses where their gawd put their brains.

Part of MY problem is I live in the buy-bull belt where I would lose my job if I decided, once and for all to tell the racist bigots I work with just what I think of them.

Where I get taunted and sent reichwing hate emails because I have the nerve to proclaim I'm a liberal.

Where the word ni**er is used almost on a daily basis.

See, I come here to get AWAY from intolerance.

I am ENRAGED when I see it here.

It doesn't matter who their target du jour is, atheists, brown people, muslims, immigrants or catholics.

And sometimes I go all terminator on their asses.

Not productive maybe, but then again, neither is catering to bigots so we don't lose their votes.
