1. Wonderful....

Well, maybe now I can push my theory of magic pixies stealing my socks from the washing machine.

After all, the fact that socks can't disappear on their own and "random tumbling of the machine" can't make them disappear means that an intelligence must be behind it. And since in some books you have pixies making shoes, it is logical that the same pixies steal the socks for their shoe making activities. Of course you can't see them as they are invisible. And from this I will sue the government for not spending money on anti-pixie laws as the loss of my socks causes great distress.

And then we can have magic taught as an alternative to physics, alchemy and chemistry, ID and biology, astrology and astronomy, flat earth-ism and round earth-ism. After all, they are 'perfectly valid theories' in the ID context.

3. An experiment...

Perhaps propose an experiment -

Round up all the ID fundies and isolate them on an island or something. Then only permit technology and techniques which are revealed and/or approved as 'valid theories' in their holy books. This means no antibiotics, no surgery, no electricty....hell...nothing past iron chariots. Would be amusing to see them preach while wearing animal skins (no mixed cloths remember), waving stripy sticks in front of cattle, hitting rocks to get water, and trying to work out how to pray for fire.

It's just like 'alternative medicine' woo-woos. They all for pushing their brand of quackery, but when they get sick they break the sound barrier getting to the hospital to be treated with 'godless materialistic medicines'. If they practiced what they preached, they would be having holes drilled in their head to let the evil spirits out, or performing exorcisms to cure cancer.

I don't know who coined the saying but is appropriate - "You don't preach in my school, I won't think in your church"

Here we are in the Kakrafoon desert islant with the fundie and the woo-woo tribes. Their task for today, find themselves some drinking water or be taken off the island when they die of de-hydration. So without further delay lets see what the fundie tribe is up to...

Ah, there appears to be some dissension here. Some insist on using the dowsing method. So far they have detected lots of dirt, a few rocks and an angry snake. Ah, they say the ley lines are in flux and need channeling. Here come the crystals and the chants of 'Om'. Interesting, their detractors are doing the ancient rain dance of the wooga wooga tribe. They keep thinking of science as a thing, or a group of things when really it is the process by which knowledge about the natural world is obtained that is the important defining characteristic of science.
