the book "Farewell to God" by Charles Templeton? He used to be with "The Billy Graham Crusade" but later turned agnostic. I read it a couple of years ago and *liked* it. Very thought provoking considering who it comes from.

I got a little tired of Templeton's "there must be some kind of god" agnostic message (as I remember).
But he knew Billy Grabem BEFORE Billy Graham became an evangelical superstar!
One of the most illuminating events is when Templeton decides to go back to college to actually STUDY Xianity. He invites Graham to do the same.
Graham says he doesn't need to learn anything more. He believes the Bible is true and infallible and his religion makes him feel good. End of story--we don't need no education...
IOW, he just completely closed down his mind in that area.
If anyone else gets a chance to read it, do so. It provides some good insights into Graham and other believers in his type of religion.
