Christianity Is Stupid.

Has anyone heard of the band Negativland? I haven't.

For some reason I remembered seeing 311's home video from around 1995 and the bassist had a t-shirt that said "Christianity Is Stupid." Well it's a t-shirt of Negativland, who recorded a track of that name. I guess it garnered a bunch of media attention, but I don't recall hearing anything about it.

Anyway, thought I'd search for it and found it at their website - check it out. The picture is shitty as hell, but you can still see it. Oh, and read the description - hilarious! I want one, but can't think of anywhere in Indiana I'd have the balls to wear it.

is one of my favorite songs of all time.

One of their cds shipped with a piece of linoleum in it. I think the group was almost bankrupt by the changing of copyright enforcement in the early nineties.

They used to hang around the SF multimedia scene, but I first started listening to them on vinyl back in 87' or so.

That's how that song goes. In my 11/3 trauma, with word of the "values voters" having delivered the election to *, I felt the need to drive around blaring that song.

I will have to go snooping in the MP3 files. Any band which offers a song with a sublime title like "Christianity is stupid" can't be all bad.

The more you say it, the more it sounds so right.
