Any Enter Jabberwock Jack Chick summary fans here?

"Hahahaha, a Catholic priest with a sign saying ?GOD IS DEAD?. Why? Did I miss something? Do Catholics generally think God is dead?

Chick really doesn?t understand the concept of secularism, does he? It?s just like with The Last Generation ; it?s like he?s completely incapable of fathoming the idea of lack of religious beliefs. To him, people either believe in his version of Christianity, or they believe in some magic Paga-Wicca-Satanic quasi-voodoo nature goddess or something. Or, they believe in Christianity, but they believe it doesn?t exist. Or they believe in Jesus, but they?re willfully siding against him to align themselves with evil.

The entire premise, here, even, is specious: It?s not a matter of God being a liar (which presumes that God exists and implies a willful rejection in spite of this), it?s a matter of just not buying into the idea at all."

1. Those are friggin' great.
It's tough to parody Chick, only because Chick's crap is itself a parody though he doesn't know it.

3. He may be Protestant.
The Protestants accuse the Catholics of reveling in Christ's suffering and death (gee, where would they get that idea?) Protestants wear a cross with no corpse hanging from it, which represents the fact that Jesus came back from the dead. They claim that the crucifix that Catholics wear does not properly commemorate the Resurrection.

So it could be an incredibly stupid attack based on that idea. He could be saying that Catholics think God is dead on the cross.

4. Chick's theology doesn't run that deep
Catholics are not Christians, and therefore no respecters of God, end of story. His tracts are full of ludicrously overdrawn stereotypes because he's interested in condemnation, not accuracy.

6. DEFINITELY a Protestant.
Chick's anti-Catholicism is old, deep and ugly. One of his classic tracts is "The Death Cookie." That's a reference to the communion wafer.

As one of those tiresome Fundamentalist Atheists, I certainly wouldn't defend the Catholic religion. But since I got that Humanist card for free when I joined the EAC, I don't like to see any group of people dehumanized the way Chick does with anyone who doesn't fit his narrow and bizarro religious creed. Whatever it is!

The first Chick tract I ever saw was lying on the floor of a public toilet in a bus station, floating in a pool of piss.

That always struck me as a particularly fitting metaphor for his particular oeuvere.

7. Jack is a
Catholics are the Great Whore, the pope is the antichrist kind of guy. Though he may be right about this one....

I think you may be giving Jack too much credit for thinking out an argument and symbolizing it in his art(?) He seems like more of a lash out in any way possible kind of guy.

I was so happy when I found his online archive, now I can laugh at his stuff without having to deal with his dead behind the eyes followers.

rather than reflecting light on the side the Sun is on. Is there any bit of physics, or everyday observation, Chick can get right?
