From what i have seen in these boards it would seem many are religious christians. Lots of love and all.

I'm from Denmark, Europe. where 50-80% of the population is athiest. I myself are an athiest, and have been so for all of my life. Taken many of you are from somekind of religious church, then what is your thoughts of Athiesm?

note: I was confirmated in church (though nearly every child does that for the party they get and the presents)

New word alert: Confirmated! I love it.

Some nice responses.

It would be nice if Oprah did a show about non-religious people.

1. I hate to be judgmental but...
The people at the Oprah board seem very child-like. We ought to send them to R/T for some boot camp.

At least those from the Home Team. :-) (Ours, not Oprah's Believers.)

Reading the responses was a lot like reading R&T. e.g., the Metaphysical types rambled on for umpteen paragraphs of mental dust-bunnies.

Pretty quickly, up popped one of my favorites, the Used Car Sale Approach to Xianity: Why is it you don't believe in God? How have you come to that conclusion? What would it take for you to believe otherwise? (The leather upholstery and stereo upgrade, thanks.)

Weirdly, that same poster followed up with this non-sequitur: One more thing I would like to say, I am not a religious person. However, I am a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

And OF COURSE, after just a few posts, we had this Golden Oldie: Let's not forget the millions of people that have been killed in atheistic societies such as Communist countries.

I really liked this post:

Atheists believe in people, and computers, and animals, and stars. They believe in all the same things other people do, except for supernatural things...

I think the atheist position is that the universe is puzzling enough without positing some entity outside the realm of that which we have direct experience with. For them, doing so does not bring clarity and explanation, but only more confusion...

4. You could also add..
Christians disbelieve in Vishnu, Thor, Zeus and Osiris. The disbelieve in most of the same things that atheists do, except for those in their own religion.

(Stealing from Cin's sig line) :-)
