I didn't.

Did you know that its state office must be fronted with a plaque that reads, "The safety and security of the Commonwealth cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon Almighty God."

I didn't.

Do you know why I know these things now?

Because the idiot responsible for pushing them into law is pissed that the KY HS website doesn't mention God:

2. Sounds like Mike Huckabee.

During the election, I saw an alarming number of DU posts commenting on how darn LIKEABLE Huckabee is.

Let's go back to the dim past, the 1990's.

First good ol' Mike Huckabee literally stole the governorship of Arkansas from Gov. Jim Guy Tucker. This was blowback from the Clinton Whitewater non-scandals and you can read all about it with a Google.

Then Arkansas was devastated by floods. The legislature needed to pass an emergency bill to help the flood victims.

The bill included a standard insurance industry term dating back to time out of mind: "acts of God."

Huckabee refused to sign the bill until that language was removed. He said the legislature was "blaming God" for the floods.

Holding up aid to destitute citizens because he thought his Sky-Fairy had been insulted?

Yeah, he's a real prince. Very likeable...

:banghead:

3. Oh yeah, good old affable Huckabee
That bothered me too. Never mind that he's as God-soaked and crooked as any of the usual nutters, it just feels so good to disagree civilly with a fundaloon for a change. And he's funny! Poor David Duke was polite, but never had the knack for playful joshing, which is probably why his career topped at the Louisiana House.

Be personable! Bring the laughs! And no one will remember you turned a rapist loose for a fresh rape/murder spree.

4. And if a terrorist attack happens in Kentucky
does gawd get the blame? Just like he does for all of those missed field goals and free throws that SEC Bible thumpers pray for every season?
