Would y'all care to DU this poll?
Should the motto "In God We Trust" be removed from U.S. currency?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10103521/

I thought about posting in GD but was not sure how it would be received. (I *know* how it *should* be received...!) If anyone cares to x-post, feel free.

1. Just sent in my vote
Things don't look good for us heathens in the poll. We're getting the expected 85% to 15% ass whooping that's usually served up by people who are religious/non-religious in those same ratios.

2. I thought the "liberal xtians" were our allies?
Why aren't they jumping in to help us with this project?

Oh yeah, it is just another part of their myth.

Nevermind....

3. You'd think, huh?
Never mind the history of the blasted thing - try to take it off, you're attacking their religion.

4. In my home town
several people have become quite prolific and effective in removing GOD from the currency using a black Sharpie.

Their motto is "In Black Spot We Trust"

It is a powerful and moving message, Black Spot loves you!

6. It's a Federal Offense
Be sure that there is someone else to blame!

And watch out for the break-away sect, the Red Spot sect. They actually believe the myth that Red Spot is more powerful and loving than Black Spot. But we all know they will burn in Hell for eternity.

7. Huh. I wonder if there's anything one could do to them
that would send the same message but would *not* be a federal offense.

8. I wouldn't worry too much
Writing anything on the currency is a crime, but it happens all the time and I have never heard of anyone being prosecuted for writing on the currency.

Just imagine if every atheist blacked out GOD on every bill they ever got.

11. Right. What about those pens that stores use to check if the currency is legit?
They're probably illegal as well.

10. They would if they knew that the god we trust in on our currency is Shiva.

13. I voted yes, but I really don't care.
Just as long as the currency is spendable, I don't care if it reads "In Satan We Trust."
