3. After reading the info (in that link) I'm truly convinced that despite anything..
...that I might do...to make amends for my callous ways...I'm still going straight to Hell.

5. Boo fucking hoo
Atheists aren't all touchy-feely about religion. Some even say downright nasty things about faith and religious beliefs. Would they rather we fly planes into buildings, go on suicide bombing missions or shoot people as many of their fellow religious believers have done in the name of "god"?

7. I keep a lid on it in general forums
and only let my atheist hair down here.

I recognize some of the quotes as being from this closed group. If that asshole is so super sensitive about having his sky fairies disparaged, you'd think he'd avoid this group like the plague instead of mining it for quotes to prove we're eeeevvvvuull.

Of course, he lacks the insight to admit religious flaws and the honesty to admit he's going around sniffing for offensive things in order to prove his own superiority.

And they wonder why we don't like them very much.

9. So, those were "quotes" that were plucked out of the A&A forum
I didn't realize that. "That poster" would have been wise not to come here for that reason.

And, like you, I don't discuss Atheism outside of the A&A forum.

10. Once in a while, I'll stand up for my right to be who I am
and not to be defined by believers in their own terms. I'm not particularly tactful when I do this.

However, that's really as far as it goes.

13. That and the Skeptic group
He admitted that much, citing the "Happy Blasphemy Day" thread.

I'd hate to be the type of person who spends his life looking for things to be outraged over.

I'd also hate to be a person who thinks he's entitled to go through life without being offended by anyone, ever.

15. "Umpires are not supposed to look into the dugout"
There is a rule in baseball that you can't argue balls and strikes and impolite language directed at the umpire can get you thrown out. The rule ends at the dugout where the players and coaches cannot help grousing and cursing loudly about what just transpired. It's human nature to vent. They cannot be blamed.

Don't look into the dugout.

12. Sadly that's exactly what they want
They kick and scream whenever people they don't like dare to speak. STFU gays, STFU atheists, STFU anybody who doesn't support the status-quo. We either fight for our right to have a voice (which is daunting) and listen to them whine about how "persecuted" they are because they're no longer able to silence everyone, or we just STFU as they wish and let them maintain their illusion that we don't exist. Let them go on thinking we don't matter, and make it that much easier for them to keep ignoring our needs.

It really sucks.

16. "...to admit he's going around sniffing for offensive things in order to prove his own superiority."

Yeah, like THAT'll ever happen. He lives to quote-mine, misrepresent, lie, and use ad hominems. Catch him in a lie and the defense becomes 'just because it's a lie doesn't mean it isn't true.' Point out how ridiculous that is and you get an ad hominem followed by a repetition of the lie.

6. I've started alerting on all posters who paint atheists with
the "fundamentalist" or "evangelical" atheist slur. And one of them in that thread that I alerted on actually got deleted.

Yea, mods! :applause:

That's classic.

11. LOL
And what sort of "mature intellect" does it take to believe in the countless absurdities and contradictions religions ask us to swallow? Zombie man, who is his own father, will save you from the wrath of his father (who is also him) if only you believe and cannibalize him. Zombie man also visited the North America (though that's not included in the original Bible) and preached to the Native Americans, who are actually Israelites, even though there's no DNA evidence of that (but who are you going to believe, that evil science stuff or a Holy Book written by a charlatan?). And don't forget about the space god who blew up a volcano sending millions of little people-souls into the universe, so that they now inhabit our bodies requiring us to fork over all of our money to the "church" to have them "cleared" out of us. Etc, etc.

17. Some of these believers just can't wrap their minds around a perception
that is a LACK of belief. It just makes their little brains essplode.

That's why they're always comparing us to Fundies or Extremists. It's like when you first tell a child that time isn't necessarily liner, but that's just how humans measure it. You get all "sciencey" with these close-minded types, and they can't cope at all.
