Another Atheist Billboard Vandalized
Wow, these people have a lot of time on their hands and risk fines/jail for their hate of free speech.

Vandals Target 'Without God' Billboard
Billboard's Sponsor Doesn't Suspect Religious Involvement

DAVIS, Calif. --
Spray painted in black, the words "Also Lost?" may not seem like a big deal for most billboards. But for a billboard reaching out to atheists and agnostics, the graffiti changes everything.

The billboard, one of 10 around the region, reads: "Are you good without God? Millions are."

The billboards are paid for by Sacramento Area Coalition of Reason as part of a national campaign.

But vandals changed the message on the billboard along Interstate 80 near Davis. By adding the words "Also Lost?" the last line of the billboard says "Millions are also lost?"

"They are saying because you don't believe in our religion, you will not be forgiven, and that is just definitely not right at all," Sacramento resident David Hoehner said.

Making it worse, the billboard is in a place where tens of thousands of drivers see it every day.

"We just simply want to be a part of society just like everyone else," said Michael Krebsbach, with the Sacramento Area Coalition for Reason.

He said the graffiti is disappointing, but he said he's not surprised and doesn't think it's an attack from religious people.

"I don't imagine the religious side would want a person with a spray paint can speaking for them. I couldn't take it as an attack from their side," Krebsbach said.

So far, only one billboard that has been vandalized, and Krebsbach said he hopes it will be the last.

News Video at above link where the "sponsor" states he doesn't think religious people had anything to do with the vandalism. Interesting.

SACRAMENTO, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- A billboard near Sacramento promoting atheism was vandalized by someone depicting atheists as lost, one of the billboard's sponsor said.

The billboard -- one of several posted in the Sacramento area -- originally read: "Are you good without God? Millions are." Someone spray-painted the words "also lost?" beneath "millions are," CBS13 reported Tuesday.

Rachael Harrington of the Sacramento Area Coalition of Reason -- which paid to have the billboards put up -- said the ads are intended to let atheists and agnostics know they are not alone, the TV station said.

"This shows loud and clear just how necessary our message is, because prejudice against people who don't believe in a god remains very real in America," Harrington said.

The organization has asked Clear Channel, the company that owns the billboard, to file a police report. The company offered to replace the sign free of charge, Harrington told the TV station.
