"Not a sermon just a thought" ; we as atheists live in darkness
So this annoying series of ads for a church in my area are starting to go from just eye rolling annoying to shrill nails on chalk board annoying. This morning it was about how Hitchens, Dawkins, Harris (teh Unholy Trio!) and all atheists live in darkness and only by WALKING WITH JESUS will you be in "the light". Umm guess someone is still living in that pre-enlightenment darkness and it ain't us atheists. Someone must be all pissy because here in metro DC there sure are a lot of us liberal heathenistic secular folk who find much better things to do with our Sunday mornings than go to church. And I'm sorry you cannot possibly say anything that says walk with Jesus to find the light is anything BUT a sermon. I'd love to find this idiots church and tell him how el stupido and offensive his ads are.

1. Just a thought...
"Fuck Off"(said in a strong Irish brogue, not that I have one, I just like saying Fuck off with one.)

2. When I'm out traveling the country I see a lot of similar billboards
Many of them are of the homemade variety that some farmer has put up beside his corn field. They are simple messages like "Hell is Real" or "Jesus is Real" or "Jesus is the Answer."

When I see those signs it makes me wonder if they are really trying to save souls or if they are trying to reinforce their own beliefs.

4. I have an idea that they're
only reinforcing many people's opinion in your area that they're a bunch of lunatics. They're probably only hurting themselves by airing the ads.

Regardless, the ads would drive me up the wall. I wonder if they were paid ads or are considered public service announcements.

5. Paid ads.
They are on the local news radio station (WTOP) which has the largest market share. Considering the EXTREMELY liberal makeup around here there is no doubt they are shooting themselves in the foot.

13. One of the big benefits of being an atheist is not having to sit in a church...
and listen to them drone on and on about gawd, souls, and all that.

15. What self-centered smugness.
I find it irritating when the ignorant and delusional try to "educate" me.
