3. When I try to conprehend the divide between believers and
atheists, I tend to think of it as the argument between looking at the whole business as objective phenomena versus subjective experience, with the faith support usually coming from the subjective brigade. The first response in this thread is very supportive of my speculation.

4. Not nearly enough, since my post pointed out
that even when the desert religion believers are allowed to cite their own book as proof, that book says it was a collaborative effort among deities, plural, with Yahweh only putting in an appearance after the heavy lifting was done and it was time to create two pets in a cage.

The "only one god" posture that likely arose with Akhnaten and was handed to the Hebrews isn't even borne out by their own traditions, in other words, and was rather a late phenomenon.

Of course, I don't believe a word of it, but it's nice to see them hoist upon their own scriptural petard, so badly translated they don't even know it's there.
