According to Ellen Johnson of Enlighten the Vote, whose e-mail list I'm on. Sounds like a good guy. He may not stand a prayer's chance in hell :evilfrown:, but it's worth a shot. Even the dopes who elected Randy Forbes deserve better than Randy Forbes.
From the Enlighten the Vote e-mail:
We need your help to elect Dr. Wynne LeGrow to Congress. Dr. LeGrow is the Democratic candidate for the 4th distict in Virginia and he is an Atheist. He is also a veteran and a physician.
His opponent is Republican Randy Forbes, who founded and chairs the Congressional Prayer Caucus. Forbes has introduced such resolutions as H. R. 397 Americans Spiritual Heritage Week" and H. R. 274 reafirming the phrase "In God We Trust" in all public buildings and institutions.
We cannot sit back and allow Randy Forbes to be reelected in November. It's time to get serious about electing Atheists to Congress. Dr. LeGrow is a candidate we can be proud of.

Congressman Randy Forbes, R-Fourth Congressional District, has made it a specific point to tell local audiences that he is only one of a handful of Congressmen in Washington to vote against every budget and stimulus package to come before him.
"I was one of 17 members of Congress that voted against every single bailout and the stimulus bill," Forbes told members and guests of the Greensville-Emporia Chamber of Commerce during a breakfast meeting last month. "The reason is that they didn't work. And I still say they didn't work."
For retired Emporia doctor Wynne LeGrow, the often-repeated comment by the Republican Congressional incumbent is symptomatic of why voters should replace Forbes come November. And, LeGrow is working toward just that. He is the Democratic nominee for the Congressional seat.
"To me, Randy Forbes voted for the things that got us into this problem and he has not voted for the things that need to get us out of it," said LeGrow. "He's very proud of voting against the stimulus package. In the talk he gave the other day, he said he didn't think that the stimulus package had produced any jobs.
"Clearly it has produced jobs. Clearly it has saved jobs," said LeGrow. "And, if you're the person that has the job, you're bringing in a check, if you're feeding your family, it doesn't matter whether that job was produced or saved. You now have a job."
