1. I don't know right now
But, a few weeks ago he was saying the chemo was working, the tumors had shrunk a bit. However, the treatments so far had only resulted in a sort of stasis, they weren't likely to take him into remission. There are newer procedures his doctors are considering.

In short, it's grim -- he says his cancer is a Stage 4 and there is no Stage 5 -- but not completely hopeless yet. He says, "I have to practice staying alive and preparing to die at the same time."

What's wild is that they haven't forbidden booze, so he's still tippling. I can't imagine anyone wanting to drink between bouts of chemo, but I'm glad he's allowed his comforts.

4. The booze is probably what's keeping him going
I look forward to reading his profile in Modern Drunkard magazine.

3. He wrote a review of "The King's Speech" at Salon.com
recently. I was glad to see it, as it suggests he's feeling strong enough to write.

6. I still haven't forgiven him for being such an a-hole regarding the Iraq War.
I was "Team Galloway" in that skirmish.

But, he is a great arguer for the atheist POV.
