5 more months of mockery. And before anyone accuses me of being mean, let me just say, just like grifter extraordinaire Sarah Palin, con artists need to be mocked because this guy alone has conned a lot of naive people out of their life savings and will continue to do it. Mocking them and making them look like the fools they are is the best way to help stop this nonsense. Although its kind of fun to point and laugh at this idiot too.

1. 1 Kings 7:23 (King James Version)
"And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about."

So diameter x 3 = circumference. *BZZZTT* Sorry, thanks for playing.

2. Oh, you just don't understand Biblical construction techniques.

Properly understood, the Bible is not only correct, it foreshadows modern engineering truth.

3. NatGeo just gave us a lesson in that...
On Sunday, NatGeo channel had a marathon of their "Truth Behind" series. The truth behind Bigfoot, UFOs over Phoenix, etc.

I caught "The Truth Behind Noah's Ark." Some cretinist mook named Jerry Bowen stumbled around Mt. Arafat, lavishly showing his ignorance:

"I believe the keel of the Ark was one single piece of wood, about 500 feet long. Before the Flood, the environment was totally different and trees grew about twice the size they do today."

He held up a lump of...something and said: "This is an iron bracket used to hold the Ark together." Except a middle-schooler could tell him that humans wouldn't be working iron for about another 1000 yrs. after Noah allegedly set sail. There was this thing called the Bronze Age...

There were even video clips of Bowen's mentor, the late Ron Wyatt. The show didn't go into it, but Wyatt was such a blatant fraud that even the most credulous Fundies quit sending him money. You can still find websites from outraged Xians calling Wyatt a con man and a huckster.

A real geologist - who teaches right next door to me, at Cal State Northridge - blew the Ark right out of the water. For some strange reason, since he appeared perfectly sane, he was chosen to analyze the "petrified wood" samples from Mt. Arafat. He said unequivocally that they were just local rock, with which he was very familiar. As a bonus, he practically spit the word "creationist" every time he used it.

Even better - Bowen made a big fuss over some obviously carved rocks on Mt. Arafat that he claimed were Noah's anchor-stones. The geologist said if so, then they should be rock from Mesopotamia, Noah's home. But they were basalt, and there's no basalt within 500 miles of Mesopotamia.

So what were they? Probably old PAGAN grave stones.
