Virtually no Christians whom I know would advocate respecting the beliefs of someone who thinks the Bible justifies racism, antisemitism or slavery. The Anglican and Catholic hierarchies in Britain would also not do so. There are more who would deny equal gay rights, but many who wouldn't.

There *are* far-right Christians in Britain, and some of them are very nasty; but they know themselves to be rebels against mainstream Church, and certainly public, opinion.
